Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Hushroom — formerly published as Focusage — ("the app", "we", "us") handles your information. The July 2026 rename from Focusage to Hushroom changed only the app's name and icon; your account and data carried over unchanged. Hushroom is developed and operated by Rishikesh Prince, an independent developer publishing under the name Focusfuse. By using the app you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information we collect

We collect only what's needed to run the app and the features you choose to use.

a) Account information (only if you sign in)

Signing in is optional and uses Google or GitHub (we do not offer email/password sign-in). If you create an account:

• Google Sign-In: we receive your name, email address, and a unique account identifier from your Google profile.
• GitHub Sign-In: we receive your name or username, your email address (where available from your GitHub profile), and a unique account identifier.

b) App content you create

• Pomodoro / focus session history
• To-dos, habits and their progress
• Goals, their milestones and progress (including optional reminder times)
• Notes you write in the app, including locked notes
• Daily reflections (an optional mood rating and a few words about your day)
• Your focus forest and habit trees (which trees you planted, and when)
• Tags, weekly focus goals, preferences and app settings (theme, timer durations, etc.)

This content is stored on your device. If you are signed in and have an active Hushroom Ignite subscription, a copy is also stored in your account so it can be backed up and synced across your devices. Without Ignite, your content stays on your device, and your account holds only your sign-in details, your subscription status and, if you join it, your leaderboard entry.

c) Technical information

We do not use third-party advertising networks and the app does not request your advertising identifier. Limited technical data (such as basic error logs) may be processed to keep the app working reliably.

d) Subscription & purchase data

Hushroom Ignite (our paid subscription) is purchased on Android through Google Play, with subscriptions managed by RevenueCat, our subscription-management provider. We receive your subscription status, the plan you bought, and purchase/transaction identifiers — but never your full card or bank details, which stay with Google Play. To unlock Ignite on your other devices (such as Windows or the web), we link your subscription to your Hushroom account identifier and check that status when you sign in.

2. Device features & permissions

Some features need a permission or a capability of your device. Each is used only for the feature described, only when you use that feature, and you can turn it off at any time in Hushroom or in your device's settings.

a) App blocking (Android, off unless you turn it on)

App blocking keeps apps you choose closed while a focus session runs. To do this, Hushroom uses two permissions that you grant yourself in Android's settings:

• Usage access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): lets Hushroom see which app is open in front while a focus session runs, so it can tell when you open a blocked app.
• Display over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): lets Hushroom show its own screen over a blocked app, with the time left and a way back.

So you can choose which apps to block, Hushroom also reads the list of apps on your launcher (their names and icons).

All of this is processed only on your device. The apps you choose and which app is open are never uploaded to our servers, never shared with anyone, and never used for analytics, profiling or advertising. Hushroom checks which app is open only while a focus session is running, never during breaks, paused sessions or the rest of the time. You can turn app blocking off in Hushroom's settings or timer options, and remove either permission at any time in Android's settings.

b) Microphone: dictating notes

When you tap to dictate a note, Hushroom uses the microphone through your device's speech-recognition service (on Android usually Google's; on the web, your browser's). That service turns your speech into text and may process the audio under its own privacy policy. Hushroom receives only the resulting text, which goes into your note; we do not record, keep or upload audio. The microphone is used only while you are dictating.

c) Camera & photos: scanning text into a note

When you scan text into a note, you take a photo or pick one, and Google's ML Kit text recognition reads the text from it on your device. Only the text it finds is added to your note; Hushroom does not keep or upload the photo.

d) On-device writing help (optional)

On supported Android phones, you can turn on writing help in Settings (it is off by default) to summarise or proofread a note, or find the tasks in it. It uses Android's built-in on-device model (Gemini Nano, through Google's ML Kit GenAI APIs). Your note is processed on your device and is not sent to us. Your phone may download or update the model through Google's system services.

e) Locked notes: fingerprint, face or screen lock

Locked notes open with your phone's fingerprint, face or screen lock. Android checks it; Hushroom never receives your fingerprint, face or passcode, only whether the check passed. Locking hides a note's contents inside Hushroom but does not encrypt it: locked notes are stored, backed up and (with Ignite) synced like your other notes.

f) Notifications, Live Updates, widgets & shortcuts

With your permission, Hushroom shows notifications for reminders and a running timer, including Android's Live Updates and the lock screen. Home-screen widgets, the Quick Settings tile and app shortcuts show things like today's focus, habits and recent notes. These are drawn on your device from your data on it, and can be seen by anyone who sees your screen; you choose which ones to add. Hushroom also uses exact alarms for reminders at the time you set, keeps a running timer going with a foreground service, and restores your reminders after your phone restarts. None of these send data to us.

3. How we use information

• To provide the app's core features (timer, to-dos, habits, goals, notes, statistics)
• To block the apps you choose during focus sessions, on your device
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure
• To back up and synchronize your data across your devices (with Ignite)
• To send local reminders and notifications you enable (such as habit and goal reminders)
• To operate the optional leaderboard you can choose to join (see section 5)
• To diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve reliability
• To process your subscription and unlock your Ignite features
• To respond to your support requests

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising or profiling.

4. Google user data

When you choose to sign in with Google, Hushroom requests only your basic profile information — your name, email address and profile identifier — solely to create and secure your Hushroom account. We do not request access to your Google Drive, contacts, or any other Google service.

5. Leaderboard & public information

Hushroom includes an optional, global leaderboard. Joining requires a signed-in account; if you never sign in or never open the leaderboard, nothing described in this section applies to you.

• What we store for it: an auto-generated 8-digit board id, the display name you choose for the leaderboard, and your points (weekly, monthly and all-time totals, plus a per-day points history).
• What other users can see: your leaderboard display name, your points and rank, and your daily points activity. Your email address, real name, account identifier and the underlying content (your habits, to-dos, goals, notes or session details) are never shown to other users — points are aggregate numbers only.
• Your choice of name: the leaderboard name is free-form and separate from your account, so you don't have to reveal who you are.
• Hiding or leaving: a "Show me on the leaderboard" toggle on the Ranks page lets you hide yourself at any time — your public entry is removed immediately and restored (with the same board id) if you rejoin. Deleting your account also removes your leaderboard entry and its points history.

6. Storage & security

• On your device: your data is stored locally so the app works offline. Your app-blocking choices, and what usage access shows, are kept only here.
• In the cloud (signed in with Ignite): account data is stored using Supabase, our backend and database provider, on secured infrastructure.
• Access controls: cloud data is protected by row-level security so that each account can access only its own data.
• In transit: data exchanged with our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.

No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

7. How we share data

We share data only with the service providers needed to run the app:

• Supabase — authentication, database and hosting.
• Google — Google Sign-In, and Android app distribution through Google Play. (The Windows and web versions are distributed from our website.)
• GitHub — GitHub Sign-In, when you choose it.
• RevenueCat — subscription management and purchase validation.
• Google Play Billing — processes subscription payments (Android).

Some features use your device's own services rather than ours: dictation uses your device's or browser's speech-recognition service, and text scanning and writing help use Google's on-device ML Kit. Hushroom does not send your notes, photos or app usage anywhere for these features; see section 2 for how each works.

Hushroom offers an optional Hushroom Ignite subscription. Payments are processed by Google Play and managed via RevenueCat; we do not receive or store your full payment card details. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and the service. We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

8. Data retention & deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app. You are always in control:

• Local data: uninstalling the app removes data stored on your device, including your app-blocking choices.
• Delete in the app (instant): Settings → Account → Delete account permanently deletes your account and all cloud-synced data immediately, including your leaderboard entry.
• Delete by request: you can also email support@focusfuse.co.in and we will delete your account within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records to comply with the law. Full details are on our account deletion page.

9. Children's privacy

Hushroom is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. Continued use of Hushroom after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
